O'Malley plays Main Street Calico~

Well if you are a kid you may have noticed O'Malley and Julio performing live Old West Saloon style Piano at Lil's Saloon (kids welcome) on Main Street at Calico Ghost Town. They may have had you setting at the Piano sporting a fancy derby and posing for your parents camera lickity split~ And if you could play at least 2 notes on the keyboard, you may have accompanied O'Malley playing and performing your own Duet. Now thats something you can brag about back home or on facebook and twitter! Julio and O'Malley love to meet all the kids who are willing to claim they eat all their veggies, so be sure to wave and say high if you ever spot them on Main Street!

~Lil's Saloon~ Calico Ghost Town~

Lil's Saloon is the perfect hangout on Main street in Calico for all ages (kids welcome). Lil's features everything from Sarsparilla to Draft Beer, great Pizza and Hot Dogs to mention a few delectibles~ The interior is chuck full of famous gunfighter portraits, and features a huge Saloon Mirror Backdrop behind the Bar~ Out front you got a big shady porch with a long bench on one side and the other side features an old Saloon Piano, ever so slightly out of tune but clackity enough to qualify for any Saloon worth its suds~

'Knuckles O'Malley', the bombastic ivory key avoider, being an ebony black key savant, entertains with a wide variety of his original Gold Rush Tunes ranging from circa 1848 onward~ and always in the noble tradition of the shakey fingered pool table sleep over masters of a bygone era, an era deeply seeped and infamously rooted in the tradition of the wild woolly west~ Incredulous for dodging bullets and high speed bottles without so much as misssing a note or a beat, the Saloon Piano Player was quite serious when he hung his cherished sign above the piano, 'Please do not shoot the Piano Player'~

	Here Julio hitches a ride up the Calico Hill in the Luggage Cart, being too 'hung out to dry' to waddle up the hill on his own accord~

	Of course the minute the Show is over, Julio is heading the Luggage Cart right down the Calico Hill Main Street at the dire peril of any unsuspecting pedestrians~

O'Malley

O'Malley plays in the style of Irving Berlin, on the Black Keys mostly, and like Irving Berlin, never had a Piano Lesson in his life, but plays by ear and instinct~ Not to go so far as to imply O'Malley is an Idiot Savant, although he has been called both on numerous occasions. He is of course Irish! Somewhere betwixt and between the blarney and the baloney is a genuine talent, not only on the keyboard, but with all string instruments, including 6 & 12 string guitar, banjo, mandolin, and throw in button and keyboard accordion. It is opportune that O'Malley was raised in Lone Pine, Ca by his Uncle Harry Wilson who had his own Western Band centered out of their house. With all those instruments and great talents around who would not develope an ear for music~ To top it all, O'Malley is great with the young folks and always works them into his performances. His original songs are based on his own mining and gold panning experiences with three compadres on the Cosumnes River near Hang Town (Placerville, Ca) in the heart of the Motherlode in the area of Grizzly Flats when O'Malley was in his early twenties~

The Attention Hog

Julio is actually a fully animated dummy with built in infra-red sensor to detect unsuspecting passers by, at which point he starts his programed speech complete with synchronized lip movement to each word and head movement. He can also spontaneously react with audiences via a direct link microphone. He is capable of two pre-taped messages. Julio draws more attention than any live performer, which is a little frustrating at times, and has caused more than one raucous incident~

~Gold Camp Saloon ~

The Old 'Gold Camp' Saloon Piano plays out Stephen Foster tunes for one and all, at the hands of Knuckles O'Malley, aka Crusty, back in the old days of '04'~ Gold Camp existed (9 shops and a sound stage) from '04' to '07' at the north reserved section of Sky Village Outdoor Marketplace. All but one building of the original Camp was dismantled and then moved to Sky Harbor. The highly popular Gold Panning Operation was moved to Pioneertown Ca. and is still run and owned by Preacher Bill (Wild Bunch Cast Member) and the Ross Family. The Wild Bunch and the Frontier Photography Studio went on to relocate at the Old Miner's Camp Town at Faultline in the Indio Hills. The Camp is owned and operated by Desert Adventures Red Jeep Tours~
